What is Emo? It actually originated in Washington, D.C. in the 80′s. It came from the music, hardcore punk. It hit mainstream in 2000 and has been a huge influence, especially on young teens. There is emo fashion, emo music, emo style, emo girls and boys. But this site is all about emo hair. More specifically – how to make your hair emo!

The most common emo style is jet black hair that covers the right eye, neither of which are hard to do. Check out singers Pete Wentz and Rihanna for an example of that. There are a lot of celebrities that wear emo hairstyles. Since the emo style came from music you’ll find the originators of the emo style are musicians.
